<p><strong>Introduction</strong></p> <p>This 2-day course is designed to train candidates to pass the COBIT Foundation exam and gain foundational knowledge of the COBIT 5 framework and its uses.</p> <p>COBIT (Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology) is the most globally recognised IT control and governance framework. The COBIT has been developed by ISACA, a non-profit, independent association for IT governance professionals around the world and draws from the collective knowledge and experience of the organisation’s global development team. COBIT provides best practices, tools and models for gaining the best value from information systems and is used by organisations such as Oracle, Maitland Group, Unisys and GlaxoSmithKline.</p> <p><strong>Case Study</strong></p> <p>Maitland is a privately owned international firm offering corporate and investment services around the world.</p> <p>Being a large organisation with more than 11 offices across Europe, the Caribbean and South Africa, Maitland needed control and oversight over the organisation’s use of IT. To do this, they realised a governance framework was needed. Maitland chose COBIT as it was a natural extension of their already established overall governance practices.</p> <p>Maitland’s implementation of COBIT has included both their business and IT resources, meaning there is a clear understanding how the two can relate to each other.
